About H&S Department
The department of Humanities and Sciences is a multi-disciplinary department with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Environmental Science, Sports & Games and Library. The department is headed by Dr.B. Ravindra Reddy, Associate Professor and is ably supported by Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Librarian, Physical Director and Lab Assistants. All the first year branches of EEE, Mech, ECE, CSE, IT are under the supervision of Humanities and Sciences Department.
Vision
- To be a successful individual, one needs to have creativity, quick decision making skills and ability to work long hours. So, preparing students by conducting special programs to cater to the educational requirements.
- Motivating the students to stand in the face of new challenges and encouraging them to participate in all competitive examinations.
- Preparing the students for not only core skills but also for all round competence.
- Preparing the students for all aspects of behavior, attitude, culture - fitness and over all zeal to be a professional.
Mission
- Providing audio-visual training in the class room that helps faster learning.
- Providing them a good study material more than adequate to crack the competitive examinations.
- Encouraging the faculty to take up special classes for improving their verbal and non-verbal communication.
- To enable the participants to present papers and to have mock-interviews in which there is face to face communication.

HOD Profile
- Dr. B.Ravindra Reddy is the HOD of Humanities and Sciences.
- He had his M.Sc (Mathematics) from Pondicherry Central University in 1998.
- Completed his M.Phil from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2006.
- He has been awarded Ph.D (Mathematics) from Osmania University in 2009.
- He has over 12 years of teaching experience.
- He has been working in Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology for the last 10 years. Previously he worked at Degree Level too.
- Presented six papers in various seminars / conferences / workshops and also published two papers in the International Journals.
Facilities Available
English Language & Communication Skills Lab:
English Language & Communication skills lab was established in the year 2005. It has 3 Labs namely, ELCS LAB-I, II and Advanced English Communication skills lab. They have been established to enhance the professional competence in English language in Engg. Students. ELCS LAB-I and Advanced ELCS LAB were established with 62 computers. K-Van Solutions software is used in the Labs. The learner’s speech skills with appropriate accent, intonation & rhythm through oral repetition practice.
ELCS LAB-II was established with various audio visual aids such as LCD and OHP. The course is designed suitably to involve the learners’ in group discussions, debates, role –plays, seminars, paper presentations, mock interviews, report writing etc.
- Well equipped Physics and Chemistry Labs.
- Internet access for the faculty to update their knowledge.
- Separate Departmental Library.
- Recreation room for Girls.
- Health Centre is made available for all the students.
